The Lab will be tapping a brand new in-house specialty brew this April, a “Schwarzbier.” As the name suggests, this “black beer” is a German lager brew that while dark in color, has a lighter taste than other dark beers such as porters or stouts.
When you taste our Schwarzbier, you may notice more of a hops-bitter flavor than roasted malt characteristics. This particular brew has been in existence since the Middle Ages and you’ll often find it paired with chunky breads and marinated meats. You’ll enjoy this beer with our braised beef short ribs, our lamb burger or even with our Angus Hangar steak.
